At the end of the Friday chapel service during camp, they turn down the lights and pass the "Light of Christ" throughout the church. Everyone, even the children have a 5 inch candle that they carry back to the cabin line. With their cabin mates they melt wax on the ground to hold the candles and they form a cross. As the candles burn down to the ground it forms a giant pile of wax.
I think it is fitting that as many of us head to Father John's memorial service this afternoon, my picture for today is that of a lone candle.
