332/366 - "Half Wreath"

(F/2.8, 100mm, 1/80 sec, ISO 200, Canon 5D Mk II)

I was listening to some Elliot Smith trying to relax and figure out what to shoot tonight.  A cranberry wreath is hanging on the powder room door and I decided to over expose the door and desaturate the orange in the wood.  I am typically not a fan of the selective color retouching but in the case I think it works.

292/366 - "Gullwing"

(F/8, 100mm, 1/100 sec, ISO 100, Canon 5D Mk II)

Jonah was playing the other day with some of his cars.  This one has some special meaning because my grandpa had the 1956 version and I was lucky enough to get to ride in it as a kid.  Unfortunately he sold it in the early 1980's before I was able to drive it.

262/366 - "Rainy Day Commute"

(F/1.4 , 50mm, 1/80 sec, ISO 200, Canon 7D)

I started taking a camera to work occasionally and this morning was one of those days.  At a stop light in Oakmont I was able to capture my rainy day commute.

252/366 - "Green Tomatos"

(F/8, 100mm, 1/50 sec, ISO 100, Canon 5D Mk II)

After we got back from the Big Pour this afternoon, we decided to go outside and play.  Sue decided to work in the garden and picked many tomatos.  Looks like we will have one more harvest of the cherry tomatos.

231/366 - "Cherry Tomatoes"

(F/5, 100mm, 1/100 sec, ISO 100, Canon 5D Mk II)

Sue spent some time in the garden today and harvested 200 or more cherry tomatoes.  We gave a bunch to the neighbors and I am sure the rest will make their way into our dinners this week.

207/366 - "Salsa Time"

(F/2.8, 100mm, 1/200 sec, ISO 400, Canon 5D Mk II)

Looks like it is salsa time.  I love the fresh salsa that Sue makes and it looks like our tomatos are ready.

194/366 - "Ice Cold"

(F/16, 100mm, 1/25 sec, ISO 100, Canon 5D Mk II)

I was watching the replay of the Tour de France trying to figure out what I was going to take a photo of tonight.  Then I spotted Sue's glass of water that was just starting to form some condensation, so I got setup and took some shots.

193/366 - "Dictionary"

(F/2.8, 100mm, 1/125 sec, ISO 100, Canon 5D Mk II)

So when people see this photograph they will fall into one of two categories.  The first are like me and will easily recognize the spotted pages, nice binding, and thumb cutouts for easy access to different parts of the book.  This will recognize this as a dictionary because we relied on it as our pre-computer form of spell check.  The second group will have no idea what this book is and may have only seen it in their grandparents bookcase and rely heavily on computers and smartphones for spell checking.

109/366 - "Springdale Lighthouse"

(F/4, 70mm, 1/2000 sec, ISO 200, Canon 5D Mk II)

After dinner tonight we went to Glen's Custard in Springdale.  There is a power plant of some sort that sits along the river and the stacks are visible from behind Glen's.  This is the stack I prefer mainly because of the red and white stripes.  Jonah told us it reminds him of the beach because it looks like a lighthouse.  I would have to say that I agree.

94/366 - "Berry Fun"

(F/16, 100mm, 8 sec, ISO 100, Canon 5D Mk II)

Tonight I decided to do a macro shot.  Sue and the kids keep raving about how great the strawberries are right now.  So I grabbed a strawberry, set up my shot, and here you have it.
