Today we had Jonah's 6th birthday party.  I am curious to know what is running through his mind at this moment.  What is he wishing for and hoping it comes true?

273/366 - "School"

One of the side effects of Jonah going to school is that he wants to "play" school with his sister.  I got to be the principal and took a few photos as they played like angels.

272/366 - "Bottle Caps"

I learned today is National Drink a Beer Day.  So instead of the normal photo of a glass or bottle of beer, I decided to pour out a bag of bottle caps we are saving for a friend.  Nice to see quite a few of our home brews in this mix.  Hope you enjoy your beer today!

Our pediatrician is a part of the Children's Hospital network, and i their office there are entry rugs that have different brightly colored handprints on them.  While Harper and I were waiting our turn today I noticed these rugs and instantly thought of our homemade artwork.  The kids made this last November and it is proudly displayed in our kitchen.

I was sitting at a red light on my home from work when I noticed a food truck getting repaired.  I liked the way the sky and light was reflecting off of the aluminum.

Yesterday we took a walk and collect buckeyes and acorns.  Since today is macro Monday, I decided to grab one of the acorns and give it the macro touch.

I was sitting at a stop light, looked up through my sunroof, and noticed this pole with all the wires.  I thought it was interesting so I took a shot.  I am usually trying to avoid wires in my shots.

It is that time of year.  I was able to pick up a case of Dogfish Punkin a few weeks ago.  Tonight felt like a fall evening and Sue enjoyed a Punkin on the deck.

Jonah found a cricket tonight and had a blast checking him out up close.  Luckily for the cricket he made it back to the wild unharmed.

This particular Saturday was  a brew day at the Callender Estate.  While we were waiting for the water to boil, I snuck out to the Hop Garden and snapped a few shots.

It was almost bedtime and the whole family was just mellowing out watching some cartoons before bed.  Harper was laying on the floor looking extra sleepy.  I was able to get a few shots and this is my favorite.

I was able to get a photo of Jonah during a very detailed negotiation about how far he can ride his bike in front of our house.

256/366 - "Learning to Bounce"

I cut the grass tonight and the kids were riding their bikes.  Harper keeps asking for pedals on her bike like Jonah.  The rule is once you learn how to balance you can get a pedal bike.  Harper believes this balance I speak of is really bounce.  So she bounces her bum on her bike and tells me she is ready for pedals because she can "bounce".

I am trying to follow a couple of themes today.  The first is macro Monday, so here is a macro shot of an object in my house.  If you can figure it out, good for you.  If you can't, oh well, better luck next time.  The second theme is monochrome Monday, so I made it a black and white shot too.

We went to the Pittsburgh Pirate game after church today.  This was Harper's first game so I took a few photos to mark the occasion.  This is my favorite.  The kids had a great time, eating junk, drinking soda, and cheering on the Buccos.

After we got back from the Big Pour this afternoon, we decided to go outside and play.  Sue decided to work in the garden and picked many tomatos.  Looks like we will have one more harvest of the cherry tomatos.

As the summer comes to an end so does our garden.  Sue pulled out the cucumbers last weekend and I think the beans are soon to follow.

Tonight we went to a picnic for Jonah's school.  Spinning on this contraption was by far the most popular activity.  As expected many a kid was thrown or trampled and they loved every minute of it.

Pretty much everyone knows by now that Apple will be unveiling the new iPhone one week from today.  There are many improvements I am sure, and the one that I am least happy about it the rumored change concerning the 30 pin connector.  That is the end of the cord that you plug in to your outlet to charge iDevices.  I have an investment in these 30 pin charging cords and we probably have 10-12 as a family.  Hopefully there is an adapter that will be reasonably priced.

Harper loved the costume Jonah wore yesterday, so she decided to take a turn.  So today we have a lioness.

Jonah was digging in the hall closet and found this lion costume and decided that Harper's tutu was a good accessory item, so he added that to his outfit.  I think we all have some childhood photos that we regret being taken.  I think this will be one of his.

On Sunday we had a blast playing the outside games and listening to the band before and after dinner.  Dinner was great too, even though it wasn't the pig roast that was talked about by Director Tim.  I was able to get a few shots and this one is my favorite.  Kind of makes me wonder if there is a photo somewhere of Sue and Greg as children playing some sort of game.  These two are destined to be campers and probably staff members also.

On Saturday morning we decided to walk down to the beach.  Everyone had a great time, playing in the sand, water, and sunshine.  Harper was determined to build a sand castle.

Back on day 122 I did a self portrait since I was 1/3 of the way through the year.  On Friday I made it to the 2/3's point of this year long journey.  Since I knew we were going to be at camp I planned on doing another self portrait.  This time I would be doing a silhouette style.
